Advance patient safety with the right prescription. First time.
Touchdose, Dosium's BNFC-anchored paediatric prescribing service, has been named a finalist in the Health Tech Awards 2026, in the Major Project Go Live category. The category recognises delivery: technology successfully taken into live NHS service, at scale, with the governance to match.
The finalist recognition covers the deployment across West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH), the paediatric partnership spanning Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Touchdose went live at Imperial in August 2024, generating patient-specific, BNFC-aligned dose recommendations at the point of prescribing. The service was extended to Chelsea and Westminster across the trusts' shared Cerner (Oracle Health) domain in March 2025, and in May 2026 was extended again with full ePMA write-back — a UK first — so that the recommended dose, route, frequency and indication now write directly into the electronic prescribing workflow across both trusts, with the prescriber reviewing and signing every order.
The Imperial deployment was evaluated in a peer-reviewed before-and-after study, conducted with oversight from the NIHR Patient Safety Research Collaboration: North West London and published in BMJ Paediatrics Open (Feather et al., 2025), which demonstrated an 83% reduction in the odds of a prescribing error.

The go-live was shaped with the people who use it: pre-launch workshops with paediatric pharmacy and prescribing teams surfaced workflow friction points and set the priority medicines list, and the deployment is governed under the NHS clinical risk management standards (DCB0129/DCB0160) with a full clinical safety case.
Work is now under way to extend write-back to further medicines and to additional trusts across North West London.
